Delete Your Account

You can delete your SaathChalo account and all of its data at any time — from inside the app, or by emailing us. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

1. Delete from inside the app

The fastest way, and it takes effect immediately:

  1. Open SaathChalo and go to the Safety tab.
  2. Scroll to the bottom, to Danger Zone.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm when asked. Your account and data are erased right away.

2. Request deletion by email

If you no longer have the app installed or can’t sign in, email us and we’ll delete the account for you:

Subject: Account deletion request
Include the mobile number registered with your account so we can identify it. We may ask you to confirm ownership of that number before deleting, to make sure nobody else can delete your account.

We action email requests within 7 working days.

3. What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes all of the following:

  • Your profile — name, phone number, email, gender, photo
  • Your commute route, timings, and travel preferences
  • Your matches and commute buddy connections
  • All chat messages you have sent and received
  • Your ride history and scheduled rides
  • Ratings you have given and received
  • Your emergency contacts
  • Work-from-home days you marked
  • Any blocks or reports associated with your account
  • Your saved login session and notification token

Nothing is kept in a “deactivated” state — the account row itself is removed, not just hidden.

4. What may remain, and for how long

Your data is removed from our live systems immediately. Two things to be aware of:

  • Encrypted backups. Our database is backed up routinely for disaster recovery. Any residual copy of your data in those backups is overwritten as part of the normal backup rotation, and backups are never used to restore individual deleted accounts.
  • Messages you sent to others. Chat messages are deleted along with your account. Anything another user separately saved or screenshotted outside the app is outside our control.

We keep no anonymised or derived copy of your profile after deletion.
